CAN YOU VOTE IN THE 2020 PRIMARY AND GENERAL ELECTIONS?

YOU MUST BE REGISTERED TO VOTE!

PRIMARY ELECTION
To vote in the primary election for Shelley Hughes for State Senate, you must be registered with the State of Alaska Division of Elections as a District 11 or District 12 Republican, nonpartisan, or undeclared voter.  You will need to choose the Republican ballot to choose Hughes! The primary election is August 18, 2020, and the deadline to register to vote is July 19, 2020. It’s very easy and painless to register – you can even get started online!  If you prefer the good old-fashioned paper form, that’s an option too. If you think you might already be registered in District F, you can check here to find out. You can also use that same tool to make sure you are registered as one of the three affiliations listed above that will allow you to pick the Republican ballot. Get it right so you won’t be disappointed on August 18, 2020!

GENERAL ELECTION
Any registered voter in District F can vote for Shelley in the general election on November 3, 2020. It’s not just Republicans, Libertarians, Undeclareds, and Nonpartisans who have let Shelley know they are supporting her in November. Numerous Democrats, Independents, and voters with other party affiliations have let her know they too are casting their vote for Hughes. The deadline to register to vote for the general election is October 4, 2020. It’s very easy and painless to register – you can even get started online!  If you prefer the good old-fashioned paper form, that’s an option too. EASIEST WAY TO VOTE AND MAKE SURE YOU’RE ALL SET TO VOTE?
APPLY FOR A MAIL-IN / ABSENTEE BALLOT!

Whether you’re home or out-of-state, registered already or need to register as a voter, need to update your address, and/or want to change your party affiliation, the best and most convenient solution is to request a mail-in ballot (see information below). Click here to learn about additional options, such as if you need to vote by fax, need a personal representative to pick up a ballot for you due to a medical condition, or would like a ballot delivered to you online.

,The easy solution selected by most Alaskans who cannot or prefer not to vote in-person is to request an absentee/mail-in ballot. You can do that today, in fact: request yours now.

If you’re already a registered voter, your request must be received by mail August 8, 2020 to vote in the Primary Election. To Choose Hughes, be sure to request a Republican Primary ballot. If you’re not already a registered voter or need to update your information (such as your address or your party affiliation), remember, your application must be received by July 19, 2020.

To vote in the General Election, your request must be received by mail October 24, 2020 if you’re a registered voter. If you’re not already a registered voter or need to update your information (such as your address or your party affiliation), remember, your application must be received by October 4, 2020.

Your completed absentee ballot / mail-in ballot (which includes the oval filled in beside “Hughes, Shelley”) must be postmarked by August 18 for the Primary Election and by November 3 for the General Election.

WHEN AND WHERE TO VOTE IN-PERSON?

The primary election is TUESDAY, AUGUST 18, 2020 and the general election date is TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2020. If you’d like to vote in-person early, you can vote at an absentee location beginning August 3, 2020 for the primary election and beginning October 19, 2020 for the general election. If you prefer voting in-person on election day, locate your polling location here and be sure to show up between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 and on November 3, 2020 to cast your ballot for Shelley Hughes for State Senate District F!
